Vardavar Water Festival
Transfiguration of the Lord (Vardavar) is celebrated 14 weeks after Easter. Water festival is celebrated throughout Armenia: large cities, districts, even small villages and towns. Locals, regardless of age, keep pouring water from buckets on passers-by\'s heads from balconies, windows... It is believed that the ones who get watered on this day will accomplish their goals, find the love of their life and be happy. So, arm yourself with water pistol, dry clothes and come join us for this cheerful holiday!

Barbecue Festival
Barbecue is one of the most widely spread dishes of the Armenian cuisine. There exist thousands of various recipes for preparing it, yet the popular one includes shredded small cuts of pork, lamb, fish, chicken or vegetables, cooked on charcoal in mangal (grill). Barbecue festival is annually celebrated in Akhtala town with a purpose to develop Armenian culinary traditions.
